Bromance

Hello, it’s me! On the eve of Valentine’s Day, I’d like to share this anecdote with you. It’s so typical of me to talk about myself, I’m sorry..

It was not so long time ago.. my phone screamed. I let it ring until she cried “Hello, can you hear me?” It was just my ringtone ‘Hello’ by Adele.

My friend on the phone wanted to know if I was free that night, like I had better things to do on a Saturday! He had a tiff with his girl friend, so she cancelled their movie night and I was asked to step in.

I was wary of the proposal, but he began to narrate the events leading to the tiff in great detail. I had no interest in listening to their silly quarrel, the things people do in love is their problem and I am no love guru, so I quickly accepted. Knowing his girl friend as well, I bet she will have another version of the same events to say!

Soon we were off in his car and reached Blush, Escape Cinemas a few minutes late. The lights were dimmed by then – we stumbled in the dark and managed to find our seats E10&11, I quickly sank into the aisle seat and relaxed in the plush leather comfort.

I rested my right hand on the soft arm rest and my friend yelled, for I had placed my hand on his thigh! Then only I realized we were in a couple seat! WTF! I looked at the screen, just as the name of the movie flashed – AANDAVAN KATTALAI (God’s Order).

Trust me, until then I did not know which movie I was going to. Was this a sign? Were we destined to go on a date? I looked at my friend in the dark, I could only see his outline.. What the hell! Why not? I let my hand slip over the seat and rest on his shoulder slightly.. and began to enjoy the comic of Yogi Babu on the screen. It was a movie date after all, right?

Incase, you are wondering why I’m sharing this today.. well, I have a date tomorrow! The movie is PREMAM (Love) and you can keep guessing whom I’m going with – my friend or his girl friend?

As I finish, I am reminded of the line “At least I can say that I’ve tried” from my ringtone ‘Hello’.

Disclaimer: Hello, it’s not me!
